The Problem

DeltaForge faced two major risks:

1. Invoice fraud: A malicious actor impersonated a known supplier and changed their IBAN. €250,000 was almost misrouted.
2. Tax non-compliance: Several suppliers were discovered to be using fake or deregistered VAT numbers, exposing DeltaForge to cross-border tax issues during an audit.

Their process was spreadsheet-driven, relying on internal finance staff to check IBANs, names, and VAT numbers manually through public registries — which was time-consuming, inconsistent, and error-prone.

The Solution

DeltaForge adopted MonitorPay.ai to automate vendor verification across two critical areas:

• IBAN & payee name matching: Every supplier’s bank account is validated at the time of onboarding
• VAT number checks: VAT validity, name/address match, and registration status confirmed via API
• Bulk validation: Legacy vendor lists were cleaned with batch uploads, and alerts were set up to notify of any ownership changes or deregistrations

Integration was completed via their existing SAP ERP system using MonitorPay’s API.
